1)HALLOWEEN

Halloween is a 2018 American slasher film

directed by David Gordon Green and written by

Green, Jeff Fradley, and Danny McBride. It is

the eleventh installment in the Halloween film

series , and a direct sequel to the 1978 film of

the same name, while retconning the continuity

of the previous sequels. [4] Set 40 years after

the original film, the plot follows Laurie Strode

as she prepares to face Michael Myers in a

final confrontation when he returns to

Haddonfield, Illinois to finish her off for

escaping his killing spree on Halloween night

in 1978. Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle

reprise their roles as Strode and Myers,

respectively, with stuntman James Jude

Courtney also portraying Myers. The film also

stars Judy Greer, Andi Matichak , Will Patton,

and Virginia Gardner . It was shot by Universal Movies with a budget of $10 million. It was released on the 19th of October 2018 and has since grossed a total of $33,340,000.

 

2)A STAR IS BORN

A Star Is Born is a 2018 American musical

romantic drama film produced and directed by

Bradley Cooper (in his directorial debut) and

written by Cooper, Eric Roth and Will Fetters. A

remake of the 1937 film of the same name , it

stars Cooper, Lady Gaga , Andrew Dice Clay ,

Dave Chappelle , and Sam Elliott, and follows a

hard-drinking musician (Cooper) who discovers

and falls in love with a young singer (Gaga). It

marks the fourth remake of the original 1937

film (which was loosely based on the 1932

film What Price Hollywood? ), after the 1954

musical , the 1976 rock musical , and the 2013

Bollywood romance film . It was released under Warner Bros on the 5th of October. It’s production budget is $30 million. It has since grossed $112,776,240.

 

3) VENOM

Venom is a 2018 American superhero film

based on the Marvel Comics character of the

same name, produced by Columbia Pictures in

association with Marvel [5] and Tencent

Pictures. Distributed by Sony Pictures

Releasing , it is the first film in Sony’s Marvel

Universe, adjunct to the Marvel Cinematic

Universe (MCU). [a] Directed by Ruben Fleischer

from a screenplay by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff

Pinkner , and Kelly Marcel , it stars Tom Hardy

as Eddie Brock / Venom , alongside Michelle

Williams, Riz Ahmed , Scott Haze , and Reid

Scott . In Venom , journalist Brock gains

superpowers after being bound to an alien

symbiote whose species plans to invade Earth.

It’s production budget is $100-160 million.

Sony began developing a Venom film after the

character made his cinematic debut in Spider-

Man 3 (2007). After various iterations, work on

a new version began in March 2017, with the

intention of starting a new shared universe

featuring those Marvel characters to which

Sony possessed film rights; Sony also

intended for the film to share the world of

Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set in the

MCU after a deal between Sony and Marvel

Studios. Rosenberg and Pinkner were set to

write, with Fleischer and Hardy added in May

2017. Principal photography began in October

2017, in Atlanta, New York City, and San

Francisco .

Venom premiered in Los Angeles on October 1,

2018, and was theatrically released in the

United States on October 5, 2018. The film has

grossed over $394 million worldwide and set

several box office records for the month of

October, but received generally negative

reviews from critics for its script and

inconsistent tone, though some praised

Hardy’s performance.

 

4) GOOSEBUMP2, HAUNTED HALLOWEEN

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween is a 2018

American horror comedy film directed by Ari

Sandel and written by Rob Lieber, from a story

by Lieber and Darren Lemke . A sequel to

2015’s Goosebumps , it is based on the

children’s horror book series of the same name

by R. L. Stine and stars Wendi McLendon-

Covey , Madison Iseman , Jeremy Ray Taylor,

Caleel Harris, Chris Parnell and Ken Jeong,

with Jack Black reprising his role from the first

film. The plot follows two young boys

accidentally releasing Slappy the Dummy and

the Goosebumps monsters in their town,

causing a wave of destruction on Halloween

night . Unlike the previous installment, Village

Roadshow Pictures is not involved with this

film. It was released in the United States on

October 12, 2018 by Sony Pictures Releasing

under its Columbia Pictures label with a production budget of $35 million.  The film

received mixed reviews from critics and has

grossed $25 million worldwide.

 

5) THE HATE U GIVE

The Hate U Give is a 2018 American drama

film directed by George Tillman Jr. and written

by Audrey Wells . It is based on Angie Thomas’

2017 novel of same name. The film stars

Amandla Stenberg , Regina Hall, Russell

Hornsby , KJ Apa , Algee Smith , Lamar Johnson ,

Issa Rae , Sabrina Carpenter , Common, and

Anthony Mackie , and follows the fallout after a

high school student witnesses a police

shooting. The Hate U Give premiered at the 2018 Toronto

International Film Festival on September 7,

2018 [3] and was released in the United States

on October 5, 2018. [4] The film was acclaimed

by critics, with many praising Stenberg’s

performance. It was released under FOX with a production budget of $23 million and has since grossed $5,641,873.

 

6) FIRST MAN

First Man (film) .

First Man is a 2018 American biographical

drama film directed by Damien Chazelle and

written by Josh Singer. Based on the book

First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by

James R. Hansen, the film stars Ryan Gosling

as Neil Armstrong , alongside Claire Foy, Jason

Clarke, Kyle Chandler , Corey Stoll, Ciarán

Hinds, Christopher Abbott, Patrick Fugit , and

Lukas Haas, and follows the years leading up

to the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon in 1969.

Steven Spielberg serves as an executive

producer. First Man had its world premiere at the Venice

Film Festival on August 29, 2018, and was

theatrically released in the United States on

October 12, 2018, by Universal Pictures with a production budget of  $59-70 million. The

film was critically praised, especially for

Gosling and Foy’s performances, Chazelle’s

direction and the Moon landing sequence, and

has grossed $34 million worldwide.

 

7) SMALL FOOT

Smallfoot is a 2018 American 3D computer-

animated musical comedy adventure film

produced by the Warner Animation Group.

Based on the book Yeti Tracks by Sergio

Pablos , the film was co-written and directed

by Karey Kirkpatrick, and stars the voices of

Channing Tatum , James Corden , Zendaya,

Common, LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez,

Danny DeVito , Yara Shahidi , Ely Henry, and

Jimmy Tatro. The plot follows a group of Yeti

who come across a human, with each species

thinking the other was just a myth.Smallfoot was theatrically released in the

United States on September 28, 2018, by

Warner Bros. Pictures with a production budget of $80 million. It received a moderately

positive reception from critics and has grossed

over $118 million worldwide.

 

8) NIGHT SCHOOL 2018

Night School is a 2018 American comedy film

directed by Malcolm D. Lee and starring Kevin

Hart , Tiffany Haddish, Rob Riggle , Taran

Killam, Romany Malco , Keith David , and Anne

Winters. Hart also produces the film alongside

Will Packer, as well as co-wrote the script. The

story follows a group of adults who set out to

earn their GEDs. The film was released in the

United States by Universal Pictures on

September 28, 2018 with a production budget of $29 million, and has grossed over $78

million worldwide and received mixed reviews

from critics.

 

9) BAD TIMES AT THE ELROYALE

Bad Times at the El Royale is a 2018 American

neo-noir thriller film written, produced and

directed by Drew Goddard . The film stars Jeff

Bridges , Cynthia Erivo , Dakota Johnson , Jon

Hamm, Cailee Spaeny , Lewis Pullman, Nick

Offerman and Chris Hemsworth. Set in 1970,

the plot follows seven strangers who each are

hiding dark secrets that come to a head one

night in a shady hotel on the California- Nevada

border. Bad Times at the El Royale premiered at

Fantastic Fest on September 27, 2018, with a production budget of $32 million and

was released in the United States on October

12, 2018. The film has grossed $16 million

worldwide and received generally positive

reviews from critics, with praise for its acting

and Goddard’s screenplay and direction,

although the 141-minute runtime and pacing

drew some criticism.

 

10) THE OLDMAN AND THE GUN

The Old Man & the Gun is a 2018 American

crime comedy film written and directed by

David Lowery, based on the true-life story of

Forrest Tucker, a career criminal and prison

escape artist . The script is based on David

Grann ‘s 2003 article in The New Yorker titled

“The Old Man and the Gun”, which was later

collected in Grann’s 2010 book The Devil and

Sherlock Holmes. It stars Robert Redford,

Casey Affleck , Danny Glover , Tika Sumpter,

Tom Waits and Sissy Spacek. It is Redford’s

final role, as he announced his intent to retire

from acting in August 2018. It had its world premiere at the Telluride Film

Festival on August 31, 2018 and was released

in the United States on September 28, 2018, by

Fox Searchlight Pictures.It’s production budget is not available but it has grossed over $2. 8 million since it’s release.
